Day 6 Awesome Crazy Evening - Part 3 - White Water Paddling

Someone...can't remember who ...AGAIN..said lets go and see if the tide is as high on the beach and when we got there it was amazing. The Banjo Pier was almost under and the waves were huge. Some of us just paddled in the very edges of the water and the loons amongst us went further. The tide was coming in, not out.

The water was crashing into the sand creating white top swirl everywhere. The craziest ones went in right up to about thigh deep and let the white water crash over them. It was soooooo exciting.

Beth and Jenny smiling through the waves....

Those in the water were not the least bit dry ...anywhere anymore

The Banjo Pier was almost under water and the photos just don't do this justice..the waves were white and there were surfers standing up surfing on huge waves. Those who were 'paddling' in the waves were wet through completely..and those of us standing in the water's edge were literally blown backwards by the wind, stingingly full of sand! It was fantastic. Very very wet but fantastic. There were loads of surfers really far out and a crowd of locals enjoying the scene so while it was very dramatic - it felt safe

I don't think I've ever had so much fun on a beach ...fully clothed but soaked to the skin, however, the house was yards away and taking turns in the 2 large piping hot showers, changed into PJs and then the warm and dry was waiting for us.
