Day 5 Crab Fishing Expedition - Part 2 - Fishing

The art of Crab fishing they learned it well - notice no-one wanted to wear their Leaver's Hoodie this time despite a real rain shower part way through. They did really really well though

The trick is to try and get the crabs out of the river...and into your bucket before they make their own leap for freedom.

Lydz, crab fishing and posing simultaneously!

The fishing bit is easy-ish. You throw a bait bag on a line into the water trying to keep it near the side and when it feels heavy pull it up!

While crab fishing loads of families bring their kids who squeal with delight at the crabs in the bucket. Occassionally there are weird lurkers who just watch ...like you're busking and its a show. This lurker even got in a photo. He lurked, watched and never said a word!

This is highly brave, and unusual behaviour - Kayleigh not only managed to hold a crab but smiled like it was fun....the rest of us screamed...loudly ...if one even came near us. Kayleigh really got us screaming when she said..."Shall I kiss it?" Ewwww!

  1. Love the picture of Kayleigh holding the crab!
And more screaming . . . how quiet will it be next week in Looe with the girls all gone home?
